Frequently Asked Questions

What does a session look like?

It 100% depends on what you need. No two sessions look alike. Whenever you arrive, we check your current status, note your progress, and decide what to focus on next. Then, we get started.

If a new injury pops up, we can work on that instead of your current injury. If a different area of your body is influencing your pain, we will address that.

Each session lasts 60 minutes and we design it around you and your goals.

What if I had physical therapy before and it didn't work?

Here are some reasons why –

1) Not all physical therapists are the same. We see a lot of individuals who have already had physical therapy and thought it “didn’t work.”

2) Treatment focused on the wrong area of the body (not the root cause).

3) You didn’t get the right mix of hands-on care and exercise. Hands-on care includes massage, dry needling, cupping, joint manipulation, and more. Most people need both types. The amount needed varies for each person.

4) The dosage was incorrect. You should feel muscle fatigue with strengthening exercises. If you don’t, you’re not strengthening anything.

5) Treatment did not address the specific activities you wanted to get back to. If you’re an active individual, a cookie-cutter approach will not work.

How do you know I don't need surgery?

We have over 30 years of combined experience. We’ve treated people who didn’t need surgery and people who did. In most cases, we know from day one.

We will be honest with you about whether you need surgery. If we’re not sure, we’ll also discuss the pros and cons.

Our goal is to help you quickly return to doing what you love, whether that means working with us or not.

Won't the pain go away if I rest?

This is a common misconception. Rest will decrease your pain, but it won’t allow you to get back to what you want to do without pain. Building your body’s tolerance is the key to getting back to doing what you love.

Most people rest and then jump back into their favorite activities. They skip the gradual increase in volume and thus never solve the problem. Instead, they alternate between having pain and not having pain.

Do you take my insurance?

Great question! Because we have chosen to prioritize you, we do not directly bill insurance. This is in your best interest for three reasons –

1) Insurance will not reimburse us for maximizing your fitness. They will only reimburse you for decreasing your pain to a “reasonable” level. This doesn’t fix your problem for good.

2) There is a significant amount of research for our treatments. But insurance doesn’t care about what actually works. They pay for what they deem appropriate, which isn’t treatment that actually works.

3) Your care should be determined by you and a medical professional who has direct contact with you. Someone without medical training who doesn’t know you shouldn’t make your health choices.

You can use your out-of-network insurance benefits. If you are unsure what those are, we can check for you.

How it works: You pay us, and we’ll give you a medical receipt (superbill). You upload that to your insurance portal, and then your insurance will mail you a check.

You can use your HSA, FSA, or HRA.

Can I use HSA, FSA, or HRA?

Yes, we accept all three.

What payment options are available?

Most clients use monthly payments. Some of our clients ask for a different payment plan.

We are flexible. If you want to work with us, we’ll find a payment plan that works for you. We care about you getting better and want to remove as many barriers as we can.

What injuries do you treat?

We treat pain all over the body – back pain, hip pain, pelvic pain, sciatica, herniated discs, pinched nerves.

Headaches, neck pain, shoulder pain, elbow pain, arm pain, wrist pain.

Thigh pain, knee pain, calf pain, ankle pain, shin pain.

Strains and sprains.

Pre-surgery and post-surgery.

Rotator cuff, labrum, meniscus.

Pain with weightlifting, pain with running, pain with golf, pain with CrossFit.

Any pelvic floor symptoms: pain, incontinence, heaviness.

Do you only work with professional or high-level athletes?

Nope! Our goal is to help all active adults stay healthy and build resilience.

We help weekend warriors, those who exercise at home, and people who don’t work out at all! We meet you where you are at.

What if I don’t get better?

We know it can be hard to trust a healthcare provider. This is true, especially if you’ve had a bad experience before.

We don’t tell everyone that we can help them—because we can’t. But if we tell you that we can help you, you can expect results. If you—

  • Complete 75% of your assigned exercises.
  • Attend at least one appointment every two weeks for the duration we recommend.

and you don’t get results, we’ll refund you. It’s that simple. We’re the best at what we do, and we’d appreciate the opportunity to prove it to you.
